I have seen the books on the shelf, but have passed them up because I am not into reading detective genres… but you make a great recommendation, so I am going to go buy one and check it out. Any paticular one in the series you would recomend?

Thanks so much for writing! Perhaps you will be pleased to know that the series is not really a mystery detective series…not ‘really.’ Rather, they are about a woman in Botswana who decides to become a detective, helping people with their problems! The ‘mysteries’ tend to be simple, everyday stories rather than murders- who stole my goats? Is my husband unfaithful? Who were my parents? (there are a lot of orphans in Botswana.) The books are so different because the chaos of life stops for them. In these almost silly, simple parables of Mma Precious Romatswe, the hefty heroine to whom everyone shares their griefs over bush tea, the important things in life are allowed to surface. I would start with the first one just to get the introduction to the characters, titled simply, The No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency. Enjoy!
